1/4 lb butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 x egg, beaten
1 tbl coffee essence
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
2 cup self-raising flour
chopped nuts.
----------------- Icing: ----------------
4 tbl icing sugar
1 tbl butter
Instructions:
Instructions: Cream butter and sugar until thick and pale. Add the beaten egg, coffee and vanilla essence. Lastly, add the sifted flour and work into a firm dough.

Roll out 1/4" thick and cut rounds. Glaze with egg white or sugar and water. Sprinkle half the biscuits with nuts.

Arrange evenly spaced on a lightly greased baking tray. Bake 350 F 20 minutes.

When cool, join biscuits together with icing.

ICING: Mix together the icing sugar, butter, and coffee essence.
