Cream together margarine, sugar, vanilla and salt. Mix cocoa and 1/3 cup cold water together, and add to creamed margarine mixture. Add sifted flour alternately with 1 cup cold water to above mixture. Beat 3 egg whites stiff, gradually adding 1/4 cup sugar. Fold into mixture. Boil 2 tablespoons water, add soda and add to mixture. Bake at 350 degrees in a greased 9 x 13 loaf pan for 20 - 30 minutes, or until tester comes out clean. Chocolate Fudge Frosting: Bring all ingredients to a boil, stirring constantly. When it comes to a boil, remove from heat and add powdered sugar, chopped walnuts or pecans, and vanilla. Beat hard and fast and pour on hot cake. Email this Recipe:
