Instructions: Cut each block of tofu in half lengthwise, then crosswise into 3/8-inch slices. Spread a muslin dish towel or cheesecloth on a dry cutting board, wrap the tofu in it, and press lightly to remove excess water.
Thoroughly combine ground beef and the Mixture A ingredients. Heat skillet and pour in 4 tablespoons sesame oil. Fry both sides of sliced tofu until golden brown. Spread seasoned beef on one side of fried tofu with a knife. Place tofu in casserole meat-side up, and add the Mixture B ingredients. Sprinkle with the sliced green onion, shredded red pepper, and the ground sesame seeds. Cook over medium heat until sauce is thickened. Serve hot in the casserole. This recipe yields 4 servings. Comments: Heating the oil before adding tofu to the pan should keep the tofu from sticking to the bottom. If, despite your care, it does stick, pour in a little more sesame oil along the side of the pan. Email this Recipe:
