3 oz cream cheese, softened
1 tsp vanilla

1 x egg, separated

1/2 tsp salt
green food color
1/2 tsp water
Instructions:
Instructions: Arrange the cookie puzzle pieces in their tree shape on a large platter for a trim-the-tree party. They also make fun gifts for children.

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. In large bowl, combine sugar, margarine and cream cheese; beat well. Add vanilla, mint extract and egg white; blend well. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. Stir in flour and salt; mix well. Add 6 to 9 drops green food color to dough; knead 1 to 2 minutes or until color is evenly distributed.

Divide dough into thirds. On waxed paper, press or roll each part into shape of Christmas tree, 1/8 inch thick; carefully transfer to ungreased cookie sheets.

In small bowl, combine egg yolk and 1/2 teaspoon water; divide among several small custard cups. Add a different food color to each cup to make several assorted colors; blend well. Paint decorations on trees with egg yolk paints.

Bake at 350 degrees F. for 9 to 15 minutes or until set. Immediately cut trees into several pieces of varying shapes and sizes. Bake an additional 5 minutes; remove from cookie sheet. Cool completely. Package each cookie puzzle separately.

Makes 3 cookie puzzles; 18 servings.
