Instructions: Thoroughly cream shortening and sugar. Add egg, beat until mixture is light and fluffy. Add vanilla, grated orange peel; mix thoroughly. Sift dry ingredients; stir into creamed mixture together with milk. Divide dough in half. Chill 1 hour so its easy to handle. Roll out one half, keeping the other chilled till youre ready to roll it. Roll 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick.
Cut; put on greased cooky sheet; sprinkle lightly with sugar; bake in moderate oven (375 ) about 10 minutes. Makes 2 1/2 dozen. Email this Recipe:
