Instructions: Brown ground beef and chopped onions in butter then add chopped garlic, tomato sauce, tomato paste, salt, pepper, oregano, basil leaves, ground cinnamon, sugar, Marsala cooking wine and large can of water. Bring to a slow boil and simmer down till it thickens. Set aside. Its best to prepare day ahead, store in refrigerator to allow flavors to mellow and reheat before using the next day.
This sauce can also be served over buttered spaghetti. Preparation of elbow macaroni: 1 - 8 oz. bag of large elbow macaroni l egg beaten grated Romano or Parmesan cheese 1/2 chopped small onion 1 large or 2 small chopped garlic buttons salt & pepper Boil elbow macaroni in salt water for no more then 6 minutes. Drain and place in large mixing bowl. Mix beaten egg and elbow macaroni then mix in ample amount of grated Romano or Parmesan cheese, chopped onion and garlic and lightly salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly then pour into greased baking dish and cover top with prepared meat sauce. Sprinkle grated Romano or Parmesan cheese over meat sauce and bake in preheated 350 oven for 30 minutes. Let stand at least 15 minutes before serving along with Greek salad and a big glass of your favorite wine. Email this Recipe:
