Instructions: Saute onion, bell pepper. Saute potatoes until they start to get a little color, set aside.
Take the pre-sliced slab of bacon and slice it into 1/2 inch lengths, put it in large pan and fry, it falls a part as it cooks, fry till crisp, When the bacon is crisp, add the dryed beef (if I cant find the beef I use a whole pound of the bacon ). Drain about 1/2 of the fat off and discard. In the same pan add the saute onion, bell pepper, and the potatoes, cover with the 1 cup of water and simmer till tender (about 15 min.). At this point add 1can whole corn, 2 cans of creamed corn, and 1 quart of 1/2 and 1/2 or milk to thin the soup to your liking. If you like it thick dont use all of the milk or 1/2 and 1/2. Heat through and serve.... Soups with cream or milk in them are best if they are not allowed to boil so be careful. Note: This is one of those recipes that can be changed to fit your familys liking.
