Instructions: Drain the oysters and reserve.
Combine the cornmeal, chili powder, cayenne, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper. Dredge the oysters in the cornmeal mixture to coat well. Heat half of the oil in a sauta pan over medium - high heat. Add half of the oysters and cook until browned, about 1 minute on each side. Repeat with remaining oil and remaining oysters. Drain the oysters on paper towels until needed. These fried oysters make wonderful appetizers or components for sandwiches. Adjust the seasoning of the cornmeal mixture if desired. Email this Recipe:
