Instructions: 1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Liberally oil a cornstick mold and set it in the oven to preheat.
2. In a large bowl combine the flour, cornmeat, baking powder, salt, sugar and black pepper. 3. In a small bowl, beat together the oil, eggs and buttermilk. When the oven is throughly preheated pour the liquid ingredients into to dry and mix until blended. Stir in the chopped red pepper. Evenly distruibute about 2 tablespoon of the batter into each depression of the hot cornstick mold and bake for 15 minutes, or until crusty outside and a toothpick insertted in the center comes out clean. 4. Transfer the cooked cornstick to a rack, reoil the mold and reath it for 15 minutes. Repeat the filling and baking process until all the batter has been used. Yeild about 20 cornstickes.
