Instructions: Mix sugar, cornstarch, salt and yolks in large saucepan. Add milk slowly. Heat until thickened, stirring constantly. Remove from heat when thickened. Add margarine and vanilla. Pour into baked pastry shell. Whip egg whites. Add 2 to 6 tbsp sugar, dash of salt and dash of cream of tartar. put on top of pie and brown in oven. Just a few minutes.
Variations: Chocolate - 3 to 6 tbsp cocoa. add enough water to make paste. stir into pudding Bananas- Add 3 tbsp lemon juice to bananas to keep them from turning brown. and banana flavoring Coconut- add coconut flavoring and shredded coconut Email this Recipe:
