2 tsp cornstarch
1/2 cup water
1 can evaporated milk, (5 1/2 oz.)
2 tbl butter or margarine
1/8 tsp salt
6 oz semisweet chocolate pieces
Instructions:
Instructions: In small heavy saucepan cook and stir cornstarch, water, milk, butter and salt over low heat until thickened and smooth; remove from heat.

Stir in chocolate until melted, returning to low heat if necessary.

Stir in vanilla.

Chill until thickened and of spreading consistency.

Store covered in refrigerator. (May be stored up to 1 week before using.)

Stir before using.

MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS: Cook cornstarch, water, milk, butter and salt in 1 1/2 quart glass casserole 3 minutes or until thickened and smooth, stirring twice with wire whisk.

Stir in chocolate until melted and smooth.

Stir in vanilla. Chill.
