Instructions: Lightly season fish fillet slices with salt and pepper.
Combine all sifted dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Make a well in the centre of the mixture and add in water gradually. Add in beaten egg and stir well to mix. Add oil to blend and mix into a batter with the consistency of pancake batter. Strain the batter. Dip the fish slices into the batter and deep-fry in hot oil until crispy and golden.
