1/2 pt dry red wine
5 x juniper berries
2 whl cloves
8 whl black peppercorns
1 x bay leaf
1/2 cup water
Approx. 5 lbs Venison, cut in thin or medium slices to serve
1/2 tsp salt.
5 tbl sour cream
2 tbl flour
Instructions:
Instructions: Salt, pepper and flour your venison. Brown venison in 1/4 cup bacon fat

(or you can substitute for vegetable oil)

Put meat in a crock pot. Combine spices with half the wine and water.

Bring to a boil and simmer 20 minutes. Strain out the seasonings.

Add remaining wine, and pour
liquid over the meat in the crock pot. Cook for 4 hours on low or medium heat. Thicken gravy with 5 tablespoons sour cream, 2 tablespoons flour, and 1/2 to 1 teaspoon lemon juice (to taste).

Serve over rice with cranberry sauce.
