Instructions: Preheat the oven to 200 C. Lightly grease deep muffin pans.
Prepare the topping. Place the brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Rub in the butter, then stir in the pecan nuts or walnuts. Set aside. Sift the flour, baking powder, species and sugar into a bowl. Stir in the oat bran. Make a well in the centre of the dry ingredients. Combine the egg, milk and melted butter. Gradually whisk the mixture into the melted Milk Melts. Pour the liquid mixture into the well and add the pears. Stir until the dry ingredients are just dampened. Three-quarters fill each muffin pan with the mixture. Sprinkle the topping over each muffin. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and a cake tester inserted into the centre of a muffin comes out clean.
