Instructions: Heat the ghee in a heavy bottomed pan and add the cumin seeds.
When they pop add the rice and fry until it is shiny (about 3 minutes). Add the salt and water stir and bring to the boil. Cover the pan partially and simmer until the rice is soft and dry. Check that the inside of each grain is cooked by mashing one between your forefinger and thumb. Serve hot with a lentil puree. Pulaos add an instant boost to a simple meal and are quite simple to make. This pulao is one of the easiest and adds a delicate fragrance to a meal. Serves 4 Email this Recipe:
