Ingredients:
Amount Ingredient
1/2 cup converted white rice
1/2 cup boiling water
1 x onion quartered thinly sliced
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/4 tsp turmeric
1/8 tsp cayenne
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 lb chicken breast tenders in thin strips
1 cup cooked ham chopped
Instructions:
Instructions: In a 4-5 quart electric slow cooker, mix togehter all the ingredients except the ham and peas.

Cover and cook on the High heat setting for 1 hour. Reduce heat setting to Low and cook, covered 2 1/2-3 hours longer, or until the rice is tender but not mushy and the chicken is cooked through. Stir in the ham and peas; cover and let stand for 10 minutes.

Serves 6-8.

NOTES : "Much of the fun of eating a curry is choosing which condiments to add. Pass peanuts, sliced green onions, mango chutney, raisins and shredded coconut and let diners help themselves."
