1 stk Unsalted Butter
1 lrg Onion -- chopped
2 cup Converted Rice
4 cup Boiling Water
1 tsp Curry Powder
1/2 tsp Ground Cumin
1/8 tsp Cayenne
1/8 tsp Turmeric
1/8 tsp Ground Ginger
1/8 tsp Pepper
16 oz Frozen Peas -- thawed
Instructions:
Instructions: In a large pot, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook, stirring, until softened, 3 to 4 minutes. Add rice and cook, stirring, until rice turns translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in boiling water, curry powder, cumin, cayenne, turmeric, ginger, and pepper. Heat to boiling and reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer 25 minutes, or until all liquid is absorbed. Stir in peas and ham. Cover and cook over medium-low heat 5 to 7 minutes, or until peas and ham are hot.
