Instructions: Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut shortening in fine. Stir milk in just until blended. Spread dough in round 8-inch cake pan. Dot with butter. Bake until medium brown at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Cut into wedges; cut in half. Cover one half with sweetened sliced or mashed strawberries. Add top; cover with more strawberries.

Serve warm with whipped cream.
