Instructions: Line a jellyroll pan or sheet cake pan with aluminum foil, leaving 3" of foil at both ends.
Sprinkle 4 beef short ribs on all sides with salt and pepper. Arrange them in a single layer, ached above the pan, resting only on their tip ends. Bake uncovered at 350 until brown, about 30 minutes. Drain the grease by absorbing it with paper towels. Coat the ribs on all sides with herb sauce made from water, vinegar, basil, thyme, hot pepper sauce and salt. Place them cut side down, close together but not touching, like a series of four commas. Cover with foil from both ends leaving their sides open slightly so that some steam can escape.
