Instructions: Butter shallow 9x13x2 inch baking pan; line with waxed paper. Butter again; set aside.
In mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in chocolate and vanilla. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Pour into prepared pan; bake 45 to 50 minutes in preheated 350 degree oven. Cool 10 minutes; invert on rack and remove paper immediately. When cool, frost with chocolate-vanilla ripple frosting.
