Instructions: Melt butter over hot (not boiling) water, add 1 1/2 cups chocolate morsels; cool to room temperature.
In small bowl, combine flour baking soda and salt; set aside. In large bowl, combine butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract; beat until creamy. Add melted morsels and eggs; beat until light and fluffy. Gradually blend in flour mixture. Stir in remaining chocolate morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. NOTE: For chewy cookies bake 8 minutes; for crisp cookies bake 9 - 10 minutes. Makes 3 1/2 dozen 2 1/2" cookies. Email this Recipe:
