Ingredients:

1 cup Dried lentils
1/2 cup Dried split peas
2 x Carrots, peeled and sliced
2 stalk celery, peeled and cubed
1 sm Onion, peeled and cut up
9 x Bouillon cubes (chicken)
9 cup Water (or you can use fresh chicken broth)
3/4 cup Rice (any kind)
1 x -(up to)
2 x Chicken breasts, deboned and cubed or sliced
1 tsp Sage
1 tsp Thyme
1 tsp Coriander
1 tsp Black pepper
Instructions:
Instructions: Easy Easy Lentil/Split Pea Soup (relatively fat free)

Put water and bouillon cubes in a pot on the stove and boil. Add lentils and split peas when boiling. Add the remaining ingredients and cook until vegetables are soft (about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes). It is really good, and so easy. It comes out a little thick, so if you want something more

"soupy", just add more water.

I have played around with the ingredients to this recipe, and add other things that are on hand (you could use ham instead of chicken). It has always turned out good.
