Instructions: Easy Oatmeal Cookie Variations
Looking for a change of pace when it comes to your cookie recipes? Here are some easy variations to start your New Year off with pizazz. Create Confetti Bars! Start with your favorite oatmeal cookie recipe and omit spices. Stir 2 cups candy-coated chocolate pieces into dough. Press dough onto bottom of ungreased 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool completely; cut into bars. Store tightly covered. (About 2 dozen.) Try Oatmeal Chippers. Make your oatmeal cookie recipe and omit the spices. Instead, stir in 1-cup butterscotch or peanut butter flavor chips into the dough. Make Cookie Pops. Reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees F. Drop oatmeal cookie dough by 1/4 cupfuls about 4 inches apart onto cookie sheets. Insert wooden stick into side of dough. Using bottom of glass dipped in sugar, flatten to 2-1/2 -inch diameter. Bake 13 to 15 minutes or until light golden brown. Frost and decorate cooked cookies as desired. ( Makes about 2 dozen.)
