Instructions: Arrange peach halves, cut side down, in ungreased 8" square baking dish; pour reserved syrup over peaches.
Mix pecans, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, the brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg; sprinkle evenly over peaches. Dot with softened margarine. Mix baking mix and milk until soft dough forms; beat vigorously 20 strokes. Gently smooth dough into ball on floured cloth-covered board. Knead 8 to 10 times. Roll dough into 8" square; place over peaches. Brush with melted margarine; sprinkle with 1 Tbsp. granulated sugar. Bake uncovered until golden brown, 20 to 25 minutes.
