Instructions: In large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in molasses, egg and vanilla. Combine flour, cocoa and baking soda. Stir into butter mixture until well blended. Chill 1 hour.

On a lightly floured surface, roll dough into a 12 x 15 inch oblong.

Cut into 12 3 x 5 inch oblongs. Place on greased cookie sheets. Bake in 350 degree oven 10-12 minutes or until firm to the touch. Cool on cookie sheets. Write names or greetings on cookies.

Makes 12 cookies
