Ingredients:

1 cup sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
3 cup flour
3/4 cup Crisco
3/4 cup buttermilk or sour milk

1/2 cup molasses (table)
1/2 cup sugar
4 tbl flour
1 pt cold water
Instructions:
Instructions: Mix sugar, baking soda and powder, flour. Cut in Crisco and stir in milk. Add more flour if not stiff enough to roll (soft dough).

Stir sugar and flour together. Slowly add cold water, then molasses and vanilla. Bring to a boil and cook until thick. (It will get thicker when cooled.) Put in pie crust between rolled out bottom and top crusts. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until brown.

Makes 2 (8 inch) pies or 1

(10 inch) pie. More like a cookie crust cake. My mother made this often.

Its a real old recipe. You must ask someone older than I why they called it "fish pie".
