1/3 cup vegetable shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 x egg
1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 cup milk
6 tbl butter melted
1/2 cup sugar
Instructions:
Instructions: Preheat oven to 350. Grease muffin tins.

Combine shortening, 1/2 cup sugar and the egg until creamy. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg; add to shortening mixture along with milk. Mix until blended.

Fill muffin tins 2/3 full and bake 15-20 minutes, until light brown. Remove from oven and dip tops in melted butter, then in a mixture of 1/2 cup sugar and the cinnamon.

Makes 12 puffs.
