Instructions: In a skillet brown about a pound of stewing meat, chopped into small pieces, with a little olive oil. I add one chopped large vadalia or sweet onion, and simmer on a medium heat, until the onions are soft. I also add a couple of tablespoons of beef bullion powder, salt and ground pepper. Once the onions and beef are are cooked, I add them to a crockpot, add some parsley flakes, and fill 3/4 of the way with water, and cook on high, for a couple of hours. I top with onion and garlic flavored bread crumbs, guyure cheese, then bake for a few minutes to melt the cheese, and serve with french bread, also covered with guyure cheese, and toasted in the oven. Make sure you use oven safe bowls, and be careful taking the bowls out, as they are very hot. Delicious !! It also makes a great appetizer for a pot roast dinner.

The stewing beef makes a nice broth for the onion soup. Some people use chicken broth instead, but my favorite is the beef. The small chunks of beef, add a little more to the soup.
