Instructions: Grease a 5 cup savarin or ring mold. In a large bowl, blend together yeast, sugar, milk and 1/2 cup of the flour. Let stand in a warm place until frothy, about 15 minutes. Add remaining flour, salt, sugar, eggs and margarine to the yeast mixture. Beat well 5 minutes. Pour into mold, cover with a clean dish towel and let rise in a warm place 15 minutes. Preheat oven to 40OF (205C). Bake 30 minutes or until browned.
Unmold savarin onto a plate. Into a saucepan, place honey and water. Heat until hot. Add brandy. Spoon over savarin while still hot. Cool. Transfer to a serving plate and arrange fruit into center of savarin. Sprinkle with almonds and decorate with mint leaves. Makes 10 servings Email this Recipe:
