MARINATE chicken pieces with some saffron, salt, white pepper and cornflour for 10 minutes. Use about 1 1/2 cups of oil and fry the chicken. Leave aside. Scoop out about 3/4 cup of the same oil and fry the ground ingredients together with the curry leaves, pandan leaves and onions. Add the fried chicken and stir. Add water, salt and sugar.
