Instructions: Cream butter with brown sugar in large bowl. Add egg, cream, vanilla and beat until smooth.
Combine dry ingredients and mix into butter mixture. Mix in dates and nuts. Shape into 2 logs 2 inches in diameter and 6-7" long. Wrap in waxed paper and freeze until firm. (Can be prepared 1 month ahead). Preheat oven to 350. Lightly grease baking sheets. Do not defrost logs. Cut into 1/4" slices. Place on prepared baking sheets. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake until cookies are golden, 16-18 min. Store cookies in airtight container. Makes about 55 cookies. Email this Recipe:
