224 gm plain flour
1 pch salt
56 gm margarine
56 gm lard
water to mix
448 gm fruit prepared (apples plums gooseberries strawberries etc.)
sugar to sweeten
Instructions:
Instructions: Method
1. Sieve flour and salt into a basin.

2. Rub in margarine and lard with fingertips until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.

3. Add sufficient water (approx. 8 tbsp) until the mixture binds together.

4. Roll out pastry and cover a 9in/ 23cm plate.

5. Place prepared fruit on to bottom of plate and sprinkle with sugar.

6. Roll out the remaining pastry and make a lid for the tart.

7. Crimp the edges of tart or press with fork.

8. Glaze top with either milk or egg and sprinkle with sugar.

9. Place in a preheated oven and cook until golden brown and the pastry is crisp.

fan oven: ]90 degrees C approx 40 minutes PREHEATED
