225 gm punnet of blackcurrants

Instructions: Pull the fruit off their stalks.

Drop the fruit into a stainless steel saucepan then pour in a couple of tablespoons of water.

Bring to the boil turn down the heat and cook gently for 5 or 6 minutes until the juices have started to run from the fruit.

Add the sugar.

Serve warm or chilled with vanilla ice cream.
