1/4 cup softened butter or margarine
1/2 cup sugar
1 x egg
1/4 cup water
1 can crushed pineapple (8 1/2 oz.) (or 1 cup) with juice
1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
3/4 cup chopped dates
1/2 cup drained maraschino cherries chopped or cut into
fourths
Instructions:
Instructions: Cream butter and sugar together. Add egg, water, and pineapple. Mix dry ingredients together in another bowl. Stir the dry ingredients and wet ingredients together only until blended, and turn into a 9 X 5 inch loaf pan.

Bake at 375 degrees for 55 minutes or until done. You might want to put a tent of aluminum foil over this bread halfway through the baking period to prevent over-browning.

NOTES : I made this yesterday and changed the recipe to suit myself in the process. That makes it a "new" recipe which I am entitled to name, dont you think? My sixteen-year-old daughter Angela wouldnt even try this and griped that I make too many breads with "funky stuff" in them, so Im naming this recipe accordingly.

I really liked it, even if Angela didnt.
