Instructions: Prepare tuna as for a sandwich; add Worchestershire sauce and chives; set aside. Broil bread on one side only; remove from oven and set aside. Beat egg white until stiff, and add to tuna mixture.
Put generous heaps of tuna mixture on the untoasted side of the bread, and sprinkle with Paprika. Broil until lightly browned on top. May be served whole or cut into 4 wedges and served as an hors doeuvre. Ginger Says: This recipe isnt really a holiday theme, but my mother always made it as an hors doeuvre for holiday parties, as well as for brunch on Sundays. It has no real name, other than "Funny Sandwiches" - Im sure they have a real name, but it is lost in time now. They acquired this name when, as a very young child, I asked her "what are those funny sandwiches?", and the name stuck. She is home with God now, so I cant ask her what theyre really called, but they are great for brunch as a whole sandwich, or perfect finger food for parties! Email this Recipe:
