Instructions: Mix butter, sugar, vanilla and food coloring (if desired). Work in flour and salt until dough holds together. Mold dough around date, nut pieces or chocolate pieces. Place cookies about 1-inch apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven at 350F for 12 to 15 minutes. Do not brown.

Cool and use Galaxy Icing to complete.

Galaxy Cookie Icing: Mix until smooth and use to top Galaxy Cookies. Food coloring may be used if desired.
