Instructions: In a microwave-safe dish, combine the butter, olive oil, and garlic. Heat for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes, until the butter has melted. Stir.
Heat the ovens broiler to 400 . On a baking sheet, place the 2 halves of bread, crust-side down. Toast under the broiler until the bread is a little crusty on top. (For crunchier bread, wait until it has started to brown a little bit.) Remove from oven, but leave the heat on. Brush bread heavily with the garlic-oil mixture. Sprinkle the shredded Italian cheese on the bread, then cover with the Muenster slices (overlapping is not only fine, but recommended - you cant go wrong with cheese). Sprinkle 1 tsp. parsley over each half of the bread. Place bread back under the broiler for 30 to 45 seconds, until the cheese JUST begins to turn golden. Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes. Slice to your desired thickness, and hide from hungry thieves until meal-time. :-) Email this Recipe:
