Instructions: Well butter a 1.8 litre shallow ovenproof dish.
Slice the potatoes into slices about the thickness of 2 x 10p coins. Arrange half the potatoes over the bottom of the dish and season well with salt and pepper. Crush the garlic into the carton of cream stir well then pour half over the potatoes in the dish. Cover with the remaining slices of potato. Season with salt and pepper and pour over the remaining cream. Cover with foil. With grid shelf on the second set of runners cook in the roasting ovenfor about 1 hour 10 minutes removing the foil after 30 minutes. The top should be just beginning to brown. Ideally serve straight away or they can be kept warm safely in the simmering ovenfor about 30 minutes or so. Garlic cream potatoes potatoes served this way are wonderful especially with something without sauce or gravy such as lamb chops or perhaps steaks. Serves 4 Email this Recipe:
