Instructions: Butter an 200mm round cake tin.
Melt the chocolate by either putting it in a basin on top of the aga or by placing the basin in the simmering oven. When melted mix in the softened butter flour sugar and beaten egg yolks. Whisk the egg whites until stiff. Gently fold into the chocolate mixture. Turn into the prepared tin. For the two oven aga put the oven shelf on the floor of the roasting oven. Put in the cake. Slide the cold shelf onto the second set of runners from the bottom. For the four oven aga put the oven shelf on the bottom set of runners in the baking oven. Put in the cake. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until there is a crust on the top and the cake is firm to the touch. Cool until it is easy to handle. Turn onto a rack to cool completely. Serve as a cake or pudding with cream and/or fruit. I have served this for a quickly made pudding.Serve with homemade icecream or good cream. It is very rich. Email this Recipe:
