Instructions: Cream 1-1/2 cups sugar and shortening. Add egg yolks; one at a time, add salt. Sift baking powder and flour. Add flour and milk to creamed mixture alternately, beginning and ending with milk. Beat egg whites until stiff; fold into batter. In separate bowl mix filling ingredients together; blending thoroughly. Pour 1/3 batter into greased and floured 12-Cup Bundt Pan. Sprinkle 1/2 of filling mixture followed alternately by batter and filling ending with batter. Dot top with butter. Bake at 350 degree for one hour or until cake tests done. Cool in pan 10 minutes, turn out on wire rack or serving.
