Instructions: Beat eggs and sugar together until creamy. Sift flour, measure, then sift again with spices into egg mixture. Add nuts. Mix well. Spread on greased 12 x 18 inch rimmed cookie pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Immediately spread powdered sugar/water glaze over top. Cool. Cut into 2 x 3 inch strips.
NOTE: During WWII, mothers baked these cookies to mail overseas because they could survive a 6 week journey, arriving moist and tasty. They became German only if captured enroute! Email this Recipe:
