8 cup Shredded red or green cabbage
5 cup Peeled and sliced Granny Smith apples
4 cup Boiling, salted water
4 slc Bacon, diced
1 cup Sliced onion
2 tbl Cider vinegar
2 tbl Sugar

Instructions: Heres one I havent tried yet but sounds very tempting. Best part of the recipe is it is Light and low-fat. I found this in a little booklet called

"Light, Lively & Low-Fat" is a Prestige Lifestyles Series Special.

In large saucepan combine cabbage, apples and water, simmer 5 minutes or until cabbage is barely tender. Drain and remove cabbage and apple mixture to serving bowl. In a large skillet, fry bacon in vinegar, sugar and fennel seed, if desired. Cook 2 minutes. Pour bacon mixture over cabbage and apples; mix lightly and serve.

Makes 6 servings.
