1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup applesauce
1/4 cup molasses
1 lrg egg
1/4 cup flour
3 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp baking soda
Instructions:
Instructions: Beat together the brown sugar, applesauce, molasses and egg in a large bowl until smooth. In another bowl combine the remaining ingredients

(except the white sugar) and stir into the wet mixture. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours or overnight.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Form the dough into small, walnut-sized balls, roll in white sugar and place 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet. (I use and ungreased cookie sheet and it works fine) Bake for 10-15 minutes. Remove and cool on a rack.

Makes 3 dozen.

NOTES : I have been meaning to share this recipe for quite some time.

They are soft and spicy and yummy. I make them often and get Rave reviews......
