3 qt saucepan
4 cup boiling water
1 tsp table salt
Instructions:
Instructions: In at least a 3 quart saucepan, over high heat, bring 4 cups water and salt to a rolling or hard boil. Add white rice
Stir rice in well. Be careful not to burn yourself with the steam. Also, water and the starch from the rice will be quite hot! Be careful Boil rice in water for about 20 minutes at a medium boil. Cover partially if desired and use reduced heat. Watch the rice closely as it will absorb most of the water (it should).

When rice has cooked, remove from heat. Pour it into a colander and rinse it with cold water. Drain well.

Place back in the pot with about 1/2 cup water and let reheat. Stir often, letting rice absorb the water. Or, place rice in a steamer over boiling water for about 5 minutes or until it is steaming hot.

Serve! (Hint: Rice with plenty of butter on it is delicious! Season with table salt and black pepper.)
