1/2 cup all-purpose flour or 4 cups cake flour
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup shortening
3/4 cup milk
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
5 x eggs
1 can sweetened condensed milk (14-ounce) can use chocolate-flavored sweetened
condensed milk For the Chocolate Buttercream
Frosting
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1 cup baking cocoa
3/4 cup butter or margarine softened
2/3 cup milk
Instructions:
Instructions: Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 3 round cake pans, 9x1 1/2 inches.

Mix flour, sugar, shortening, milk, baking powder, salt, vanilla and eggs in a large bowl with electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds, scraping bowl occasionally. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Pour batter into pans.

Bake 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes, then remove from pans. Poke a number of holes halfway through each layer, using the handle of a wooden spoon. Pour milk into holes; cool completely.

Combine all frosting ingredients and beat until frosting is smooth and spreadable. Frost between layers and on top and sides of cake.
