Instructions: I always wanted my Grandma to make this cake for my birthday cake.
Cream butter and sugar till light. Add vanilla and eggs, one at a time, beating well after each additiion. Sift together, baking powder, and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating after each addition. Combine remaining ingredients and stir into 1/3 of the batter. Alternate batters by spoonsfuls in greased and lightly floured loaf pan (or 2 8" round cake pans) and zigzag spatula through batter. Bake at 350F for 55 to 60 minutes (35 to 40 minutes for round pans). /CAKES Email this Recipe:
