Cream shortening and sugar. Add beaten eggs. Sift dry ingredients and mix in alternately with the milk to which the baking soda has been added.

Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet and sprinkle with sugar and nutmeg topping. Bake in 375 F oven for 8 - 10 min
