Instructions: An italian eau de vie made From the lees of wine grapes after pressing. It is distilled throughout the hills and mountains of northern Italy and Tuscany and homemade grappa is on offer in many restaurants in the Alps and Dolomites. It is now also available from the great winemakers in all regions of laly.
Grappa Giorane is a young grappa kept in stainless steel after distillation. It is clear in colour and concentrated in taste retaining the grape characteristics. Grappa Invecchiata is an aged grappa. Keeping it for years in wooden casks gives it an amber colour and makes it softer and smoother. Grappa di Mono Vitigno is made from a single grape variety usually a strongly perfumed grape such as Moscato (Muscat). This grappa is a favourite at the River Cafe: poured over ice cream or into an espresso coffee it makes a perfect ending to an italian meal. Email this Recipe:
