Instructions: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Sift together the flour, salt and baking powder.

Cream the shortening, margarine and sugar together. Add the egg, vanilla and sifted ingredients. Add the milk and mix well. Add the nuts. Roll out the dough and cut cookies. Sprinkle with sugar.

Bake on greased cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 12 minutes.

Makes 60 cookies
