Ingredients:

2 lb green beans -- fresh
1 cup water
2 tbl butter or margarine
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 x clove garlic -- minced
1/2 lb fresh mushrooms -- thinly sliced
2 tbl all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground pepper
1/2 cup beef broth
1/2 cup whipping cream
Instructions:
Instructions: Wash beans and remove ends. Bring one cup water to a boil in a large saucepan; add beans. Cover, reduce heat, and cook 8 minutes or until tender.

Drain and keep warm.

Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat; add onion and garlic, and cook, stirring constantly, 5 minutes. Add mushrooms and cook until tender, stirring often. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper; cook, stirring constantly, 1 minute. Gradually add beef broth and whipping cream; cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens. Add sherry; cook 2 minutes. Add beans, tossing to coat. Serve immediately.

Yield: 8 servings.
